Created in 2011, Shabbat Across AEPi was an idea born out of AEPi’s Hineni Jewish Identity Enrichment Conference. The concept is simple - Get as many chapters as possible to host or co-sponsor a Shabbat dinner for their chapter on the same friday night. This year Shabbat Across AEPi anticipates 130 chapters participating on campuses around the world. Yes - around the world! From France to England, Scotland to Canada, and of course From Israel all the way to the United States, brothers will celebrate Shabbat together as one. Make sure your chapter is among those that are helping to foster the truly uniquely international Jewish brotherhood that can only be found in Alpha Epsilon Pi.
Through our partnership with AEPi there is special funding for this initiative available through the AEPi Foundation. Masters, Lt. Masters, and Jewish Identity Chairmen can apply for up to $100 for this special initiative. In order to qualify for the additional grant be sure to invite a campus rabbi to your chapter’s Shabbat dinner to share some Jewish insights. Jewish Identity Chairmen should also prepare a short (or long) D’var Torah that speaks about coming together as an international brotherhood on Shabbat. For help in creating your chapter’s own Shabbat Across AEPi, please be in touch with AEPi’s Lorber Director of Jewish Programming Daniel Brick at firstname.lastname@example.org. or Rabbi Denbo at email@example.com
